Cisco HyperFlex Edge Systems support a fixed configuration of three HX converged nodes but allow the ability to scale up capacity by hot-adding additional capacity drives. HyperFlex Edge operates using existing top of rack 1Gb switching with options for both single and dual switch configurations. Edge clusters are configured with replication factor 2 (RF2) to ensure availability during various failure scenarios. HyperFlex Edge is typically deployed in environments with a minimal infrastructure footprint, hence the use of UCS compute-only nodes is not supported. |
